Golden Frog Day

Monday, August 14, 2017, 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM

The zoo will highlight a global day of awareness for one of Earth's rarest and most beautiful amphibians: the Panamanian golden frog. Show your support for these icons of conservation with interactive activities and a visit to the golden frogs of "Scaly Slimy Spectacular: The Amphibian and Reptile Experience"; learn more about the work of Zoo Atlanta and partners to preserve a future for these and other amphibians; and enjoy a chance to see one of the Zoo's Panamanian golden frogs up-close. National treasures of Panama, these frogs are now considered extinct in the wild. Education, field research and survival in assurance colonies now represent their only chance of success for the future. Project Golden Frog is one of Zoo Atlanta's 2016 Quarters for Conservation projects. Learn more about their work, and cast your vote while you're there.
